"See You Again" is a song past American country music creative person Carrie Underwood. It was written past Underwood, Hillary Lindsey, and David Hodges. It was released as the fourth and final unmarried from Underwood'southward fourth studio anthology, Blown Abroad, on April fifteen, 2013. Underwood debuted the song on the twelfth season of American Idol on April 4, 2013.[ii] "Meet Yous Again" is Underwood's eighteenth consecutive Top 10 single on the Billboard Hot State Songs chart and is also her seventeenth single to be certified at least Golden past the RIAA. As of December 2013, the single has sold 740,000 copies in the United States.[three] On August ten, 2015, "See Yous Again" was officially certified as Platinum.[four]

Content [edit]

"See You Again" tells the story of moving onwards later on experiencing the expiry of a loved one in life. The lyrics provide promise and hope through Underwood's belief that one will reunite with every fallen loved ane in the afterlife. The vocal's opening consists of a solo piano, followed by a backing chorus and ring kicking in shortly after.

"See You Again" was originally one of three songs written for the 2010 feature film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Of the three songs that Underwood, Hodges, and Lindsey co-wrote for the picture show, the workers behind the project opted to cull "At that place'due south a Identify For Us." Underwood pushed to include "See You Again" on her 4th studio album, Diddled Abroad, during the writing process of the album.

Run into You Once again is written in the central of A-flat major, with a vocal range from F3 to D 5.[5]

Critical reception [edit]

The song has received positive reviews from music critics. Billboard.com described the song to be "truly a gustatory modality of heaven."[2] Kevin John Coyne of Country Universe included the song in his personal favorite tracks from the Blown Away studio album in the website's 2012 year-cease countdown of editors' favorite Country albums of the year,[6] as did Matt Bjorke of Roughstock for their anthology countdown.[7] Liv Carter of Urban Country News gave the song a "thumbs up", calculation "what pulls it over the line however, and presumably why it has become a fan-favorite, is its sincerity in wishing to bring comfort and Underwood's confident performance."[8] Jonathan Keefe of Slant Magazine was less favorable, saying that "the chorus of power ballad "Run into You Again" is marred by dated, campy arena-rock clichés."[9]

Commercial performance [edit]

The song debuted at No. lx on the US Country Airplay nautical chart for the week of Apr 13, 2013,[10] and peaked at No. 2 for the chart dated September 7, 2013.[eleven] Information technology entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 90 for the nautical chart dated May xviii, 2013,[12] and peaked at No. 34 for the chart of Baronial 31, 2013.[13] It also peaked at No.7 on the Hot Land Songs nautical chart on August 24, 2013. As of Dec 2013, the single has sold 740,000 copies in the United States.[3]

On August 10, 2015 "Encounter Y'all Again" was officially certified as Platinum.[4]

Live Performances [edit]

Underwood performed the vocal in May 2018 during an episode of American Idol in which she mentored the top v contestants.[fourteen] The song was included in the setlist for the Cry Pretty Tour.[15]

On June 7, 2013, Good Morn America gave a first wait for the music video for "See You lot Again". The total video premiered soon after on ABCNews.com.[17] The music video was directed by Eric Welch.[eighteen] It showed the aftermaths of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, the September 11 attacks and the 2013 Moore, Oklahoma, tornado, forth with various reunions.
