How to make Layered Taco Dip

Step by step photos showing how to make seven layer dip in a glass dish.

Layer 1: Cream cheese.

In a modest bowl, blend cream cheese with sour foam and taco seasoning. Yous can make homemade taco seasoning, or use one packet of store bought. Spread this in the bottom of a xiii×9 blistering dish. This can besides be assembled in a trifle basin!

Layer two: Meat or beans.

Dark-brown i pound of ground beef (or ground turkey) and add taco seasoning mix. If you prefer to proceed this vegetarian, y'all can use refried beans or black beans instead. You can also use your slow cooker to make your taco meat ahead of fourth dimension!

Once the meat is browned, spread over the tiptop of layer one.

Layer three: Guacamole.

This might exist my favorite layer! I used my favorite homemade classic guacamole recipe, just this mango guacamole would take been delicious as well! Spread guacamole over meat (or edible bean) layer.

Layer iv: Sour Foam.

Nosotros use a thin layer of sour cream to allow fifty-fifty the pickiest of eaters to savor this dip. Only if you honey the creamy white stuff, slather it on thick!

Layer 5: Salsa.

The thicker the better. I find about store make salsas are too watery for this dip. I mean, they work peachy for the first ten minutes, then the salsa layer actually starts to get watery.

For best results, a homemade Pico de Gallo would be my number one choice. But, if yous don't take time to make your own, the thickest salsa you can find is the best option!

Layer 6: Cheese.

Cheddar. Colby Jack. Mexican Blend. Pick your favorite shredded taco cheese and pile information technology on!

Layer vii: This is where the "rest of it" goes. Tomato, shredded lettuce, blackness olives…whatsoever yous feel needs to be added, this is the identify!

Serve with tortilla chips and relish!

How Long Does 7 Layer Mexican Dip Last

At my house, about one hr. Ha!

Seriously though….keep in refrigerator for up to 3-four days. Plainly this dip is all-time fresh, equally the layers don't mingle and bleed together.

Once you've set it out though, don't keep it out of the refrigerator more than a couple hours, otherwise you'll have to throw it away.

IF I end upwards with some leftover taco dip later on a party, I immediately refrigerate it. Serve a dollop of this dip on top of my Chicken Taco Soup or Slow Cooker Taco Chili. It'south the perfect garnish, I'm certain you'll concord!
